A new year has been kick-started with a front cover for January 2012's Perfect Hair magazine. Art direction by Zoe Irwin, Make-up by Sally Crouch and Styling by Bernard Connolly.

I would like to congratulate my clients Nick and Allison Ford from Abacus Hair Studio in Bewdley for winning this years Fashion Focus Image of the Year award presented by Mark Creed at the 2011 Fellowship Luncheon. A very well deserved award for a hard working and creative salon. Well done Abacus!

This year I had the pleasure of meeting and working with one of the hair industry's rising stars, Angelo Vallillo from Zullo and Holland in Nottingham. After completing his latest collection, he was ecstatic to find out that having entered the collection into the British Hairdressing Awards for the first time, he had not only made it through to the final six salons representing the Eastern region, but also got a front cover on Hairdressers Journal magazine! Angelo's sensational collection was published in the 18-24th November issue, and can be seen below.
Angelo said;
"Hairdressing isn’t just a job for me, or even a career. It is my life and my hobby – I live and breathe it. To be a great educator and to take others with you, I believe you must radiate your love and commitment to the craft. No one could question my commitment or my obsession with hairdressing. In just eight years I’ve won awards, been part of the inaugural and brilliant Sebastian CULT Team, worked backstage at major catwalk shows, presented on stage, been in demand as an freelance Sebastian educator and been recognised by some major names in the industry. Last year, Akin Konizi named me publicly in Hairdressers Journal as the next rising star. This year I have been shortlisted as One To Watch in the prestigious Creative Head IT Awards. I continue to work tirelessly towards my goal of becoming the best hairdresser I can be and embrace every opportunity to participate and contribute to the advancement of the profession."
The Fellowship Colour Project's fourth training day was a Studio 54 themed photo shoot held at the Ask Academy, London, with mentor Tanya Hennessey. Tanya assisted the students with the clothes styling as well as co-ordinating the day. Given a £50 budget for clothes on the morning, the students created their final looks for the shoot in the afternoon, directed by Chris Williams (international colour director, Rush Hair) and Jo O'Neil, (Toni & Guy international education technical director).
It was a pleasure to shoot the Fellowship's Colour Project again this year. The students displayed a high level of talent and enthusiasm, each one interpreting and encapsulating the Studio 54 theme perfectly. All in all a very successful day and they now have a fantastic collection to show for it!
Following this years photo shoot for a new client of mine, Stuart Holmes, we managed to secure a front cover for him on the Oct/Nov issue of Blonde Hair magazine. Well done to all the team at The Stuart Holmes Beauty Salon and Spa! Make-up and Styling by Justine Collins.

Jessica Williams from Zaks hair salon in Wolverhampton beat more than 800 competitors to reach the grand final of the 'Wella Trend Vision 2011' held in London. Last month I had the pleasure of shooting for Hairaisers, one of the big names in hair extensions based in London. It was great to work closely with the ambassadors and celebrity hairdressing duo, Hooker and Young, who created some amazing looks using the range of new products.
