Banbury Postiche Wig Shoot!
Occasionally, a new client comes along who is a little bit different. Banbury Postiche is one of those clients! After working for a number of years in the hair industry shooting for hair awards and events all over the country, I had never been asked to do a 'Wig Shoot'......until now that is.
Having been established for over 80 years, Banbury Postiche develop and provide alternative hair products and services to customers throughout the World. With highly specialist skills, the kind of clients they deal with vary greatly, and include theatrical, education, health care, trade, cosmetic research and private clients. Along with providing a comprehensive range of products and services they also provide specialised training courses and equipment to trade clients and educational establishments throughout the UK.
Banbury Postiche provide several products, such as Hair Extensions, Crafted Hair Pieces, Real Matched Hair Products, Pillows and Turbans and of course, Acrylic Wigs!
The purpose of their first 'Wig Fashion Shoot' was primarily for a new brochure, but also for advertising, marketing and PR purposes. They wanted to get away from the bog standard 'head shot' and try to show their new collection of wigs as highly desirable 'fashion accessories'. It was great to work with the directors, Norman and Nick, who were very open to my suggestions on how this should be shot. Needless to say, they were very happy with the results and the collection can be seen below.

Colour Project 2010
Once again, an exceptionally high standard was demonstrated by the Fellowship's students at the Wella World Studio in London for the Colour Project 2010 photo shoot. Many thanks to Mark Creed at the Fellowship, also to Tony and Tanya Hennessey (Hair XS) for all their help on the day. The resulting collection is shown below:

MODE Hair Collection
After being approached by salon director Martin Crean, founder of Chipping Campden's high profile hair salon 'MODE', I shot his debut collection in high contrast black-and-white. This style of photography helped Martin to create the bold statements he wanted for this season. His collection is shown below, presenting a selection of four ultimately festive and elegant hairstyles. Each one is a strong character all by itself, elegant, timelessness and portraying bold determination.

Ian Stuart Bridal Catwalk - 'Revolution Rocks' 2011
Wow! What a show this was! The design inspiration for Ian Stuart's 2011 bridal collection comes from Queen Elizabeth 1st, Debbie Harry and Les Folies Bergere. A mix of luxurious fabrics including silk taffeta, printed silk organza, taffetas metal, brocade and silk chiffon portray his signature style. Detachable items, crochet lace, oversized skirts and elaborate embellishments are key. Once again, I was honoured to provide the backstage and catwalk photography for the show at the Saatchi Gallery in London on 23rd - 24th May 2010.

I would like to congratulate my client Andrea Beers for winning a place at the Grand Final for her "Midlands Hairdresser of the Year 2009" collection. Fellowship for British Hairdressing – Colour Project 2009
An exceptionally high standard of hairdressing was displayed by the Fellowship's Colour Project students this year. Every colour of the spectrum was covered from Poppy Red fused with jet hues through to Buttery Blondes that were exquisetly suffused with candy pink. Biker-glam inspired accessories play perfect foil to the leather and shorter hair to ensure this collection was pure glamour with power-dressed tough quiffs and edges. With artistic direction by Paul Scully from Scully and Scully. I would like to thank Carol Spencer and Mark Creed at the Fellowship for a fantastic day. A preview of the collection can be seen below.
Abacus win at L’Oréal Colour Trophy 2009
Abacus Hair Studio in Bewdley make it through to the Grand Final of the L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy 2009 at this years South/South Western regional finals in London. Allison & Nick Ford, directors of Abacus Hair Studio, Bewdley said:
"We research as much as possible, look at what’s going on during fashion week. We take a broad outlook and keep searching until we see something that inspires us. Ultimately it's essential to produce something you like yourself and reflects your salon. We considered how we could use what’s in now and take it next season. The clothes styling is the most important element so we built around that."
